It is located in the central-western region of the country, in the valley of the Ot\u00fan River in the Central Cordillera of the Colombian Andes. The inhabitants of Pereira (Pereirans) are kind and helpful people, characterized by their civility, spiritual openness and great cultural and environmental richness. Pereiraros say that in Pereira \u00abnobody is a stranger, we are all Pereirans\u00bb. A welcoming city Pereira is a pluralistic city with approximately 480,000 inhabitants, the municipal area is 702 km\u00b2 distributed in its urban part in 19 communes and in the rural area in 12 corregimientos. Pereira limits to the north with the municipalities of La Virginia, Marsella and Dosquebradas, to the northeast with Santa Rosa de Cabal and to the east with the department of Tolima, to the south with the departments of Quind\u00edo and Valle del Cauca, to the west with the municipality of Balboa and the department of Valle del Cauca. Pereira is part of the cultural coffee landscape, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in June 2011.
